Balakrishna, who had no notable hits in the recent past, has pinned his hopes on Okka Magaadu directed and produced by Y.V.S. Choudary under the banner of Bommarillu.
It may be recalled here that almost all his films including Vijayendra Varma, Allari Pidugu, Veerabhadra and Maharathi proved to be big failures at the box office. In this backdrop, the announcement of Okka Magaadu by Y.V.S. Choudary (known to be the greatest fan of the Nandamuri family), with Balakrishna in a dual role, created a sensation.
The producer-director is planning to release the film on January 11.
Though Balakrishna had no positive record in the recent past, it is reliably learnt that Okka Magaadu was sold at fancy rate in Nizam and Vizag areas. Pyramid Saimira, which entered Tollywood in distribution sector, reportedly offered this rate and bought the distribution rights in those areas.
Meanwhile, there was another talk that D Channel, which is owned by a popular politician and expected to be launched soon, had reportedly paid over Rs 2.25 crores towards satellite rights. There are eights songs in the film and Manisharma has scored fantastic tunes for the songs.
The audio of the film is most likely to be launched on December 8.
