Although he wouldn’t have opted for it out of choice, Arya inadvertently had to don the role of a distributor. This is how it happened.
To facilitate the release of his long-pending Oram Po, Arya had earlier bought the distributor rights of Chennai and NSC areas.
However, to his dismay, producers A.C. Anandhan and Palanivel of A.P Film Garden have expressed their inability, quoting financial difficulties, to the release of the movie.
Pooja, playing the female lead in Oram Po, introduced Arya to Samarasighe a bigwig in Sri Lankan film circles, whose acquaintance she developed during her stint in Sinhalese films. The two have now joined hands to purchase the rights of the film from A P Film Garden and release it themselves. Sources state that Arya convened a meeting with all the distributors of Tamil Nadu requesting them to release the movie pledging to take care of any release issues. The meeting was successful and eventually, if sources are to be believed, Oram Po will be released during the first week of December. With that comes a glimmer of hope to replenish Arya’s almost non-existent career. Here’s wishing the actor, who has been down in the dumps, an impressive comeback with Oram Po.
