Arjun Rampal recently made a mark for himself in OM SHANTI OM where he played a cool-n-suave villain who makes a transition from Bollywood to Hollywood. As Mukesh Mehra a.k.a. Mike, he brought a dramatic angle to the film which is breaking records all over.He would now be seen on the big screen as one of the principal actors in THE LAST LEAR. As per Rampal, the film would be seeing a January 2008 release.
Based on Utpal Dutt's play 'Aajker Shahjahan', THE LAST LEAR also reunites Rampal with his AANKHEN co-star Amitabh Bachchan who plays the central protagonist. Preity Zinta is the leading lady of the film while Shefali Chhaya, who was seen with Big B in WAQT, has an important part to play herself.
Produced by Arindam Chaudhuri of Planman Motion Pictures, the film is directed by Rituparno Ghosh.
