Zayed Khan and Vivek Oberoi insisted on doing their own stunts while shooting for Apurva Lakhia's Mission Istanbul. The film, which is being shot in Turkey, saw the two actors doing their own dare-devil stunts, instead of using body doubles. The director had to give in to their demands, albeit reluctantly.
Lakhia had a tough time explaining to Zayed that he needed a body double to for a scene that required him to crash through a glass window and plunging down into the street below, from the eighth floor of a building. Zayed, however, did not comply with the director's wishes. It was the same with Vivek too. The two of the actors insisted on doing the stunts themselves for a scene which required them to jump from a six storey building onto a helicopter and then jump into the sea before the helicopter explodes. The director had arranged for body doubles for the actors as he did not expect them to do the stunts themselves. The climate is so cold that nobody expected Zayed and Vivek to plunge in to the icy cold sea. He initially tried to deter them but finally gave into their wish. But the director is not at all comfortable with the idea of his actors doing the stunts themselves as it can prove to be very hazardous. In fact, it is only after stunt directors Javed and Ejaz gave the green signal and said that they were confident about Vivek and Zayed pulling it off, did he allow them to do so. The film, which is produced by Suneil Shetty and Ekta Kapoor, will be completed by mid- December.
