Bollywood and cricket is in her blood. But the strong attraction of the fantasy world made her choose acting. She won critical acclaim after her performance in Rang De Basanti and now Soha Ali Khan gears up to further stamp her mark on Bollywood in Khoya Khoya Chand.Tuesday Nov 20 11:05 AM
CNN-IBN: Any particular scene you loved shooting in Khoya Khoya Chaand?
Soha Ali Khan: It’s very difficult to choose once scene. And there were lots that I had to do for the first time. There is classical Kathak number, which I was both terrified and excited to do because I am not a trained classical dancer. There is a sexy cabaret dance, which was a lot of fun but again something which I haven’t done before.
CNN-IBN: There are a lot of actresses of the 50s and 60s like Waheeda Rehman, Mena Kumari, Rekha. Whom do you embody in this film?
Soha Ali Khan: It’s very difficult to imitate any of the roles that you have mentioned. There were references given to me. There were films that I saw of all of these legendary actresses.
CNN-IBN: Will we ever see Soha doing a masala Bollywood film?
Soha Ali Khan: When you think of a masala Bollywood film, you generally think of something where you leave your brain at home which is great fun. People seem to think there is a dichotomy between being intelligent and being popular, glamorous and commercial.
The two films that I am doing next year are both commercial films. One of the films is being directed by Neeraj Vohra, which immediately brings to mind films, which are not so much about the head but so much the heart. His film is an out and out comedy.
