The latest fad in Indian film industry seems to be the remake of old hit films. Don, Sholay are some of the examples in Bollywood while back home, Billa 2007 is a much awaited remake of Rajini’s blockbuster Billa of yore.
Though the general pointer is towards remaking action films, there are no takers yet for comedy or family oriented films.
But there is good news for comedy lovers now. Visu and S V Shekar have plans to remake their hilarious Manal Kayiru which a few decades back was a successful comedy in which S V Shekar had laid a few conditions to enter into wedlock but gets cheated royally in the bargain marrying someone who did not satisfy even one of his conditions.
The current film is touted to have Ashwin Shekar, son of S V Shekar who will be donning the role that his father had essayed in the original and to support him in the ladies department, talks are going on to rope in either Sandhya or Bharthi of Ammuvaagiya Naan fame.
