“We have a system organised this time to ensure that nothing goes wrong,” Director of Entertainment Society of Goa, Nandini Paliwal said.
This time the Film Federation of India is trying to leave no stone unturned to keep it's 3,000 delegates happy. The opening night on November 23 will not have any filmy song and dance performances, instead the inaugural event will be simple with actor Shah Rukh Khan's presence being the only starry highlight.
“We are very much clear about one thing. We are not going to spend lavishly this year. We will also not spend huge amounts on film stars,” Goa Chief Minister Digamber Kamat said.
The 38th International Film Festival of India pays tribute to filmmakers Ingmar Bergman and Tapan Sinha.
While the critically acclaimed Romanian film 4 Months, 3 Weeks And 2 Days opens the festival, the Indian panorama section will be inaugurated with the screening of Malayalam film Ore Kadal.
Other Indian films which will grab attention at the festival include, Adoor Gopalakrishan's Naal Pennagal and a series of short films on AIDS titled Jaago commissioned by filmmaker Mira Nair.
