Actor, director Rajat Kapoor is back in the news and for all the right reasons. He has a prominent role in Sudhir Mishra's Khoya Khoya Chand, a film based on the film industry of the Fifties.
The actor is very excited about his role in Khoya Khoya Chand. He plays the role of Prem Kumar, a huge filmstar of the Fifties, who is quite insecure about his position. One of the main reasons why Rajat agreed to do this film is because it is being directed by good friend Sudhir Mishra, who in Rajat's words is great to work with. The film also stars some of his friends like Ranvir Shorey, Vinay Pathak and Saurabh Shukla, his gang from Bheja Fry and Mixed Doubles. The comfort level on the sets of Khoya Khoya Chand was great. In fact, the gang of three will be turning out for Rajat in his next directorial venture, Mithiya as well. That film will also star Naseeruddin Shah. He is really glad that the sharp lines demarcating mainstream and art films has gradullay blurred. Having been a director and an actor, Rajat still feels that an actor's job is the best in the world. It's not all that complicated, he feels as direction, which is still his first love.
