It is a general practice once in three years for the Tamil film Producer’s council and FEFSI (Film Employees Federation of South India) to meet and decide on the wages of film technicians and workers of the industry.
There are around twenty four unions which are registered with FEFSI which includes directors, lightmen, car drivers, cinematographers etc.
To fix the salaries for the people who are registered with the union, FEFSI Vijayan has been conducting hectic parleys for the past one month with different unions.
While discussing about this, Vijayan says, “Talks are going on between the Producer’s council and FEFSI which are proceeding in a satisfactory manner. In a week’s time, a consensus would be reached and the salary revisions announced accordingly.”
