Anurag Kashyap has been keeping a very low profile these days following the release of his No Smoking. He is reported to be frequently changing his mobile number and has also cut down on his public appearances. But that may soon be changing as actor Saif Ali Khan has approached him to write a script for his production house.
It has come as a pleasant surprise to Kashyap, who has become kind of a recluse post the release of No Smoking. Kashyap and Saif seem to have a lot of friends in common. It seems that Saif was very impressed with the director's unconventional storytelling style and walked out of the theatre very impressed with the director's mix of fantasy and reality in No Smoking. Later the actor called for a meeting with his business partner Dinesh Vijan and discussed the idea of roping in Kashyap. The duo later met with the director. Saif wants him to come up with a few ideas before they zero in on one script. Kashyap is believed to have agreed to do a few scripts before meeting them again. Apparently, like Kashyap, even Saif has a fascination for dark cinema. They want their film together to hit the floors by 2009. Currently, Kashyap is working on his version of Devdas, Dev D, which hits the floors next year. The filmmaker is also working on a script which revolves around the holy city of Varanasi.
