Chennai: Actor Kamal Hassan turned social activist on Thursday when we caught up with him at an AIDS awareness event initiated by the UN and Tamil Nadu AIDS Control Society in Chennai. Friday Nov 30 1:15 AM
"We don't have to see someone suffer and then act on it. I don't have to see someone close to me dying to plunge into a propaganda like this and that's exactly what I'm doing,” Kamal said.
As expected the event didn't go by without a mention of Kamal's next big release Dasavatharam which has been kept under wraps from the press.
"It's one of the best experiences that I've had. And I've had a lot of experience. So that says a lot about Dasavatharam,” Kamal said playing hide and seek with the press.
Kamal's co-star in the film, Asin who was present at another event in the city also shared her experiences on working on Dasavatharam.
"I can definitely say that this has been the most exciting film of my career. I mean the shooting part of it as there's so much of interesting stuff that I've never done before. I totally enjoyed every bit of it even though there was not a day when I went home without a scratch on my body,” Asin said, upping the curiosity quotient even more.
But it's music composer Himesh Reshammiya's music for the film that’s got the actress excited more than anything else.
“He's given such fantastic music for the film. This is the first time he's scored music for a South Indian film, but you can't make out that a North Indian has done it. I mean it's so authentic and realistic,” Asin said.
And if you are one those who are wondering when exactly you'll get to see this much awaited film, here's the last word from Kamal himself.
“Not in January that much I can say because there's a lot of work to be done,” Kamal said.
