Riding on a high after the success of Polladhavam, Divya is gung ho about her upcoming Vaarnam Aayiram with Surya.
In the midst of all this, she has refused to do a role in a Kannada film, which is incidentally a biopic on the life of her home state’s (Karnataka) ex-Chief Minister titled ‘Mukhiya Manthiri I Love You’. They had planned to rope in Divya to play the CM’s lover.
Divya politely turned down the offer claiming that she is not interested in the project. When contacted, she claimed that she had no issues in acting in movies that had controversial storylines but the whole idea of a Chief Minister falling in love with an actress didn’t seem to impress her.
When questioned on her moving away from Kannada films, she said that right now she was busy with Gautham Menon’s Vaaranam Aayiram and there was no truth to these rumors. She added that she gave equal importance to both the languages and doesn’t believe in outweighing one over the other. Smart move!
