Chennai: Daughters of superstar Rajinikanth walking in their father's footsteps: no, not films but charity. Saturday Dec 1 11:55 PM
The two who generally keep a low profile, drew quite a crowd at this art exhibition held recently in Chennai, the proceeds of which will go for the welfare of disabled children.
"They say charity begins at home. We learned and have been through that. We've lived our lives how he's lived so there's no other way we can grow up. We've seen him do things and I think it's very natural for us imbibe what we've seen,” said one of Rajinikanth’s daughters, Aiswarya Dhanush.
"I've been a painter all my life rather and I'm very interested in art and I think it's a great form of art. It's just wonderful,” said Soundarya Rajinikanth.
Apart from being a painter, Soundarya is also busy making a film, an animation film at that.
And yes, taking the theory that charity begins at home, the theme for the film is Rajinikanth! And the name of the film is Sultan. So what's the status ?
“The Managing Director of Ocher Studios is making the movie on Rajinikanth's life. It's a complete 3D animated feature film and its about 1 hour 30 minutes and its completely CG and there's no live action in it. It's happening, Rahman sir (AR Rahman) is working on completing my duet for me and the film. We're into production are looking forward to completing it next year end,” said Soundarya.
But someone's complaining...
"She's being very weird about that. She's not shown us anything. I think I'll wait for it and see it on the big screen,” says Aiswarya.
And expect some honest criticism from Aiswarya who's also married to actor Dhanush.
"I'm a great critic for my dad and my husband but that's how people at home should be right?” she says.
Of course, after all charity does begin at home!
