Goa: At the 38th International Film Festival of India, the filmy fever has taken over. The National Film Archives of India (NFAI) has brought some 200 film posters that celebrates the 60 years of Indian independence. Sunday Dec 2 12:55 AM
So from a poster of Ritwik Ghatak's Meghe Dhaka Tara dates to the 1920s to our latest Shah Rukh Khan blockbuster Chak De, it’s a treasure trove for a regular film buff.
“This year's theme was to celebrate the India's 60th year of Indian independence,” said K S Sasidharan, Director of NFAI.
If it’s an ode to nationalism and patriotism through old film posters from the NFAI, on the other hand local Goan artists are giving their own ode to Bollywood through rangoli.
So while 10-year-old Tanmesh Parab paints his favourite actor Abhishek Bachchan, others are painting Amitabh Bachchan to even the latest kids on the block Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone.
From Angelina Jolie to Dev Anand, it’s the art of being as colourful and as similar as possible to the real life person.
"I took up Dev Anand because I like him, he's an evergreen actor and because this is a tribute to him,” said one of the artists.
So whoever said that only films were the attraction at the film festival?
