After being on the scene for close to 13 years, Jimmy Sheirgill is eagerly looking forward to his two releases of 2007 and especially the New Year.

"Legend has it that Lord Rama had to serve a 14 year 'banwaas'. I guess the story of my career is moving in the same direction as well and my next year, 14th in the industry, should prove to be an end to my 'banwaas' as well", laughs Jimmy.

Jimmy has faced a particularly disheartening year with films like DELHII HEIGHTS, VICTORIA NO. 203 and CHODDON NAA YAAR failing at the box office. However, his performance was much appreciated in each of the films while he got maximum appreciation for his negative role in EKLAVYA - THE ROYAL GUARD.

"It's this support from those who like my performance and the media which keeps me going. The silver lining amidst a chaotic 2007 has been all this appreciation which has come in. I guess I had enough of 'samaaj-seva' all these 13 years."

Is he sounding a little bitter? "It is not being bitter; it's about being practical. I have been working non-stop with different people for various reasons but I feel now is the time for me to think about myself. 13 years is not a short duration. I have wrapped up all my films and am now looking at chilling out for some duration before making my next move", says Jimmy as a matter of fact.

"I am happy though that the 2007 promises to be ending on a good note at least. My track in DUS KAHANIYAAN is awesome while STRANGERS has been getting good response as well from all who have seen it in trials and the festivals. These films should have me smiling into the New Year", says a hopeful Jimmy.
