Aamir Khan may have a Taare Zameen Par for children but Amitabh Bachchan is a step ahead of him. Year 2008 seems to have been reserved for the young by the Big B readies himself to unleash three flicks aimed predominantly at children.
Year 2007 seems to have been a year of adult films for the Big B. There was Nishabd and Cheeni Kum this year. But next year promises to be different. The actor will first of all be playing a genie in Alladin. The next film up his sleeve is Ravi Chopra's Bhootnath, where he plays a ghost and Rumi Jaffrey's God Tussi Great Ho, where he plays God. Shooting for Alladin is proving to be a fun experience for the actor as he gets to sing, dance and, in general, enjoy himself. The genie in the film is modern and a far cry from the costumed genie of folklore. Kids are going to love Amitabh in this avatar and that is exactly what director Sujoy Ghosh's agenda is. Alladin will probably be Amitabh's first full-length film for children. According to the director, he is the biggest kid on the sets. According to the director, Alladin is designed as Amitabh's gift to the children. 2008 promises to be a great time ahead for kids.
