Gautham and troubles seem to go hand in hand; no matter how lucky he is when it comes to finding a good producer, trouble has become his middle name.
Starting from his Kaaka Kaaka days, his films face some problem or the other. If not the stars, then it is his producers going bankrupt and in the case of Vettaiyadu Vilaiyadu it even resulted in its producer attempting suicide.
His Chennayil Oru Mazhaikaalam is doomed to be jinxed as the first time they started it with Asin and Surya it was dropped just after a photo shoot. When it was revived, recently, with Trisha, it took off but had to be stopped half way to enable completion of Varanam Aayiram.
Now even VA has posed problems for him. After successful completion of a month-long shooting in the US, Gautham had arranged to send the film rolls to Chennai. Two production managers, who were bringing it to Chennai, from the US, stayed on in Singapore for two days before reaching the intended destination. Only on reaching Chennai did they find that the film rolls were missing, much to the shock of the film crew. Gautham who had spent a month shooting the talkie, song and action sequences across different cities in the US and in a university there, was down in the dumps on hearing this. Its producer, Oscar Ravichandran, who was also seen depressed, made very possible effort to trace them. After much laboring they finally received information that it was with the officials at the Singapore Airport and was brought to Chennai after much deliberation. Only after the rolls reached Chennai did the film crew heave a sigh of relief.
