The last time anyone shot a climax scene in a theatre was Vetrimaran for Polladhavan.

hat was in the now dilapidated Gaiety Theatre, which was shown as a cold storage unit. Another movie also intends to follow suit by shooting their climax sequence in a theatre. However, the makers claim that the story demands it and the scene has to be shot with a live audience.

This is for Vellithirai, directed by Viji for Duet Films, starring Prakash Raj, Prithiviraj and Gopika in lead roles. Prakash plays a leading star in the movie with a huge fan following and the scene is about a grand celebration taking place inside a theater to commemorate the silver jubilee of his film.

The production team could not find a theatre in Chennai for this scene and hence had to find one in Hyderabad to shoot the climax that involves more than a thousand junior artistes.
