The controversy surrounding Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen has spelt big bucks for her publishers and booksellers. The sales of her books have rocketed. Bollywood too is very keen to cash in on the wave. If reports are to be believed, UTV is making a film on the life of Taslima.

In fact, details have already been finalized and it seems that the actress Tabu has been roped in to play the role of Taslima. UTV thinks that Tabu will suit the role very well. The film is expected to go on the floors by next year and will be a biopic. And because this is a Hindi film, a love triangle will be added on to the movie to spice up things. UTV has done a lot of research on her life before taking the decision to make a film on her life, our sources said. As everybody knows, Taslima fled Bangladesh for the first time in 1994 when a court said that she had tried to deliberately hurt Muslim sentiments in her novel, Lajja. There was a demand that she be killed for blasphemy. Recently, the novelist who is taking shelter in Kolkata, was attacked by the Muslim clergy in the city, which issued a death warrant against her.Thereafter the novelist was shifted to Jaipur and presently is in some undisclosed location in Delhi.
