Today marks the 175th day, the silver jubilee, for superstar Rajnikanth’s mega hit movie Sivaji. Sivaji saw the superstar teaming up with maverick director Shankar for the first time. With legendary production house AVM as producer, there was never a doubt that the film will be create new records. And what a hit it has been! Sivaji, which created a lot of buzz during its release across all sections of media, became the first Tamil film to break into the UK Top 10, beating even major Hollywood films like Ocean’s Thirteen and Fantastic Four. The movie was also a resounding success across North India (without the benefit of dubbing!) proving Rajnikanth’s star power. The audio of the movie, composed by ‘Isai Puyal’ A.R. Rahman, is this year’s hottest soundtrack. The background score for the movie was composed by Rahman in London. Sivaji paired glamorous Shriya with Rajnikanth for the first time. It was also a major comeback for comedian Vivek, whose one-liners sent the audience into raptures. The film was also a technical marvel, with K.V. Anand giving it a stylish look through his cinematography. The film also became the first Tamil film to incorporate the latest 4K resolution technology that is mostly used in big-budget Hollywood films. Sivaji, made with a budget of about 60 crores, set the box-office ablaze by collecting 1.7 crores in 4 days in Chennai alone. Let’s congratulate the entire Sivaji team for their glorious success.
