Simbu starrer Silambattam, that sees him in the role of a temple priest, is all set to get going today!
For S. Saravanan, this is his directorial debut. He’s been wielding the camera for years now, working with a variety of film makers - Shahji Kailash, Perarasu, Vikraman and Suresh Kanna, to name a few. This very enthusiastic man has an aura of optimism, sending out such positive vibes that you can almost feel the same confidence he has for his maiden project.
With absolute belief in the experience gained by working with directors with contrasting ideologies, Saravanan has taken on the garb of a director. He promises that the movie will be a mass entertainer that will showcase bad boy Simbu in a very different, almost endearing light!
Saravanan believes that his movie will be loved by audiences with the same fervour he shows for it. His hero’s character is such that his every action will touch the hearts of the audience.
And starring opposite Simbu, is the fresh and fab-looking Sanaa Khan – a model from Mumbai. Saravanan is considering christening this babe with a name steeped with the Tamil flavour, but is yet to come up with a suitable name. Nevertheless, Saravanan is greatly pleased with this young girl’s acting skills. As for her dance, he says, she’ll have the audience floored!
Speaking about the movie during the lunch, Simbu said that he was initially apprehensive to hear the story from Saravanan as he felt it might be a regular case of cinematographer wishing to turn director. However, once he heard the story he was spellbound as it was a perfect commercial potbolier.
The heroine Sanaa Khan is all excited to get this very big opening. She hoped that the film will work wonders for evryone involved.
Director Saravan said that the film will be a huge commercial extravaganza. Though he himself is a cameraman, Saravanan has opted for another cameraman for his film. This is none other than Madhi, who made a mark with Veyil and is a good friend of Saravanan.
Shooting for the movie began today. We wish this debut director, his young cast and crew all the very best!
