Washington, Dec 8 (ANI): Kevin Spacey will be hosting the Nobel peace prize concert in Norway after actor Tommy Lee Jones pulled out.
Spacey will now be co-hosting the function that takes place next week, December 11th, with Uma Thurman.
The Nobel peace prize concert is a traditional tribute to the year's peace prize winners, and according to the awarding committee, it is held to "spread [the] message of peace and celebrate this year's Nobel peace prize laureates", reports Contactmusic.
Among those at the even will be former US presidential candidate Al Gore and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) who were jointly awarded the prestigious prize for their work in promoting the fight against man-made climate change.
Tommy Lee Jones, a roommate of Gore's when the pair was at Harvard University, pulled out due to 'personal reasons'.
Among those performing at the Oslo Spektrum are Kylie Minogue, Alicia Keys, Annie Lennox, KT Tunstall, Earth Wind and Fire, A-Ha lead singer Morten Harket and Melissa Etheridge, whose song I Need to Wake Up featured in Gore's Academy-award winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth. (ANI)
