As Muthazhagu in Paruthiveeran she stunned us all, but since then she has not yet received an equally challenging role. Following that scintillating performance, she graced the screen in the stereotypical heroine role in Malaikottai opposite Vishal. But she has a lot more faith in her forthcoming film with Jeevan titled Thotta. Contrary to the rumour that’s making its rounds, Priya Mani is not playing the role of a Police officer in Thotta. She clarifies that she is playing the role of a very driven and career oriented girl. As she is trying hard to succeed in her field of choice, she meets with Jeevan and the inevitable happens – they fall in love. And does she get back on track or is she sucked into the hero-centric action? The movie will tell. In the mean time, Priya Mani has got her hands full with a Telugu flick opposite Kalayanaraman. The movie is yet to be christened. Priya Mani has not okayed any of the scripts that she has been approached with since the signing of Thotta. She is waiting for the right role. One of the main criterions for her to pick the role, besides the strength of her character, is the hero she will star with. She is not too inclined to act with previous generation heroes, because she feels given her age, it would not suit her at all. Rajini and Kamal, however she states, are obvious exceptions to the rule!
