The 80's rock legend Scorpions are in Shillong enjoying the North-Eastern hospitality just before their first live concert in India. CNN-IBN’s Reshil Charles caught up with the band as they are all set to rock Shillong on Wednesday night. Wednesday Dec 12 6:15 PM
CNN-IBN: Welcome to Shillong. Over three decades of music with so many classics and hits, what is your plan for the concert tonight?
Klaus Meine: We start with a song from our new album. Then we take you all the way to the Scorpion journey. We will also play our classics like Zoom and Big City Nights.
CNN-IBN: When you play your music you must be noticing there are a lot of fans who have grown up listening to you, but they are a lot older now. Is the new album targeted to hit the younger audience?
Klaus Meine: Well, our target is our fans. We want to make an album that is more mature with lyrics more deep than ‘boys chasing girls.’
CNN-IBN: What is it like touring these days? When you go across the world do you adjust to your audience or do you give your 100 per cent wherever you go?
Klaus Meine: We always give our 100 per cent or maybe a little more than that. Of course, sometimes we try to adjust with the audience. That happens when we feel that a certain crowd loves ballads, so we throw a couple of them more into the concert.
Rudolf Schenker: We actually give a 150 per cent. We prepare ourselves to kick a**, if I may use that word. So, it’s 180, 190 and more per cent into each show. We promise we will do whatever we can to please the people and make it a happy night.
