It's still quite hush-hush at the moment. If reports are to be believed then director-turned actor Farhan Akhtar may just turn out to be the singing sensation of 2008. He is not only producing and acting in Rock On but has also sung as many as four songs in the film.

Rock On features Arjun Rampal, Purab Kohli and Luke Kenny besides Farhan as members of a rock band. Farhan is believed to have gone to the studios recently and recorded four tracks recently, all solos, composed by Shankar-Ehsaan and Loy. That makes him the only director who sings as well as acts. According to Farhan, he has been playing the guitar for the last ten years now. In his late teens and early twenties, like many other young men, he fantasized about becoming a rock star. Rock On gave him the opportunity to live out his fantasy. So when director Abhishek Kapoor approached him to paly the role of a member of a rock band, he was more than happy to obilige. And the icing was that he got to sing his own songs as well. He was quite kicked about it and the director did not have to do much to convince him to play the role.
