Selvaraghavan, who is one of the most promising directors in Kollywood today, was recently in the eye of the storm for overshooting the budget of his current project Aayirathil Oruvan. The film stars Paruthiveeran Karthi and Reema Sen in the lead.
However, Selva, who has a penchant for perfection, justifies the huge expenditure. According to him, the unit was forced to stay idle for 15 days in Kerala because of heavy rains that made the shooting impossible. Added to this is the fact that Aayirathil Oruvan is an adventure flick where CG has to be used for 80 percent of the film.
Yuvanshankar Raja, a Selva constant, is doing the music for this film too. It is reported that the soundtrack will also include the title track from MGR’s Aayirathil Oruvan. Contrary to the present trend, the track will not be remixed but will be used as such in the movie.
The film unit currently shooting in the Athirampally forests in Kerala, will move to Jaisalmer for the next schedule. The remaining portions will be canned at the Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad. The film is likely to hit the screens during summer.
