Finally there is light at the end of the tunnel for the most jinxed movie of the year, Bheema, which is scheduled to be released for Pongal 2008. After being mired with endless financial hurdles and controversies, the movie is hopeful to hit the screens soon.

The producers had to postpone the release dates countless times for reasons ranging from financial constraints to theatre availability.

Now that Bheema is gearing up for the release, will it follow the unwritten golden rules of Kollywood about ill-fated movies? The most recent ones to follow the rules and rewrite the box office history being the Ajith starrer Varalaru followed by the Kamal starrer Vettaiyadu Vilayadu. Both movies, after having been confined in the cans for months together for reasons similar to that of Bheema, rose to the stature of a super hit soon after their release.

As for Bheema, the trailers look good and Harris’ catchy songs have already been topping the charts for months now. Will success be just a piece of cake? That is something to wait and watch.
