Malaika Arora is finally ready to do her first film as a full-fledged heroine in Sunil Shetty's forthcoming film, EMI. Malaika, wife of Arbaz Khan, has so far only appeared in myriad Hindi films, but only as a dancer.

Shetty says that Maliaka is perfect for the role in EMI. Apparently it was co-star Arjun Rampal who convinced Malaika to do the role. According to the actress, Rampal has a word with her about the role and she realized that it was a big role. In the film, Rampal plays a DJ and Malaika will play his love interest. Malaika will complete shooting for her bit in the film in 12 days. According to the actress, Sunil is a very organized producer and has arranged her dates in such a manner that there is no confusion. Meanwhile, this Friday, Malaika will be seen shaking a leg with Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor in Firoz Nadiadwala's Welcome. She grabbed the limelight with her famous "Chaiye Chaiye' number atop a moving train opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Mani Ratnam's Dil Se. EMI, which is based on the recent stories about banks extracting EMIs from thei loan seekers forcefully. Besides Arjun and Malaika, the film will has actor Sanjay Dutt in a pivotal role. The film is being directed by Saurabh Kabra.
