Mumbai: Adding to a long list of brand endorsements, actor Shah Rukh Khan will now promote a leading cell phone brand. And while announcing his connection with the brand, SRK as usual was at his endorsing best.

Turning up for the promotional event despite being unwell, Shah Rukh waxed eloquent about cell phones and how they connect people. And sticking to the subject, he also gave a brand savvy answer when asked about which of his films has connected the best with his audience.

“Honest to God, how much ever people say that my films are about my marketing and manipulation, I take it all with a pinch of salt. I do a film for the simple reason that it connects to people. Be it emotion, comedy or action, it connects people to people through the film. In that sense, I am Nokia,” witty as always, Shah Rukh said and confirmed once again that there's possibly never been a better brand ambassador than him.

But we still couldn't help asking the obvious question – when does his sabbatical get over, and what's next that will take him back to his day job, which is acting.

“I was very unwell, was bedridden actually. I called a lot of directors to bed with me, but they didn’t come. Now I guess they will come and I can hear some scripts. There's Karan's film in August and then there is Don 2 towards the yearend. Right now, between January and June, I would like to do some small film which is easier to make.” Shah Rukh said.

With a sense of humour like that, and his fan following, no wonder the King Khan has a dozen of the country's biggest brands keeping him happily employed through the year.
