Ameer turns to slums for Yogi

After the stupendous success of Paruthiveeran, Ameer is busy shooting for Yogi. This time, the maverick director has cast himself as the hero. The director, known for introducing unknown faces to the screen, has cast Madhumitha (of Kudaikul Mazhai fame) as his female lead. Ameer’s earlier heroines like Trisha and Priyamani got their major breaks only through his films. In that context, one can expect Yogi to provide the big break for petite Madhumitha. After bringing village life to life through Paruthiveeran, Ameer is going to take us through the lives of slum dwellers in Yogi. The director, who feels that Tamil cinema has often portrayed slum dwellers as gangsters, wants to change that image. He is going to show the emotions and love that these people have. Well, one can definitely expect Ameer to come up with quality fare, both for the masses and classes!
