London, Dec 31 (ANI): Bollywood is being very well received in Pakistan, with each passing year bringing Indian films closer to Pakistani cinemagoers.

The Defence Housing Authority (DHA) cinema had recently screened a few Indian films in Pakistan at the Sozo World cinema, which generated huge revenues, thanks to the delighted viewers, reports the Daily Times.

The whole trend of screening Indian films began in 2006 when Mughul-E-Azam and Taj Mahal were screened at the Sozo World cinema, however in comparison to 2007, the number of cinemagoers was small.

The reason behind the small number was - it was not until 2007 that investments were made in new films that could attract the youth of Pakistan.

Secretary DHA Colonel Amir said that the screening of Indian films generated positive feedback, adding that 70 percent of the cinemagoers were women, and only Sundays witnessed mixed crowds.

He also added the government had no objection to the screening of foreign films until the local cinema did not come up to the mark. (ANI)
