Mumbai: Whether you have read Shakespeare or not, this is one adaptation that you're sure to love. Tim Supple's musical version of Midsummer Night's Dream is back in Mumbai.Friday Jan 4 6:55 PM
The world is truly a stage for the actors. After touring Britain for the past year, Tim Supple's A Midsummer Night's Dream, an adaptation of Shakespeare's original, is all set to come alive in Mumbai this weekend.
Apart from the actors and dancers, performances by street acrobats and martial arts experts will leave you asking for more. And here's the best part. It’s all a desi affair.
Supple says, “The whole production comes from India. If the actors themselves have a skill, that's come into the production- Bharatnatyam, Kallari, Stickwork, climbing ropes.”
Directing a play in one language is no mean task. But Tim Supple has done it in eight- English, Tamil, Malayalam, Sinhalese, Hindi, Bengali, Marathi and even a little Sanskrit.
Although the languages maybe alien to your ears, the emotions are not. But Tim himself is still struggling with his Hindi.
With all that energy and passion, it sure promises to be one power-packed show. And if you are in a mood to be swept into a magical world then this musical would fit right into your weekend plans.
