Hollywood hunk, seven-time Mr. Olympia, two-times Governor of California and the list goes on to describe Arnold Schwarzenegger.
But this bodybuilder-turned-actor is best known in foreign shores as the Terminator and his words Astala Vista Baby! has been etched in the annals of Hollywood history as one of the most memorable lines in films.
He immortalized the role of the barbaric king Conan in the 1980s and in the 1990s he breathed life into the fictitious character, Terminator, a robot sent to the past to prevent a war in future between machines and humans.
This was one of the most successful franchises in Hollywood and the team went on to make two sequels with the latest T-3 hitting the screens a couple of years ago. The production house, Halcyon, had recently purchased the rights to produce a sequel from the original producers Carolco for an undisclosed sum. But, surprisingly, Arnold has decided to turn down the offer. The reason, sources say, is purely the stars inability to allocate dates, as his gubernatorial status demands too much of his time. The producers have started looking for the right actor to play the part and there are early indications that 300 star Gerhard Butler is in the lead and has even expressed his desire to play the role. With the producers having the script by John Brancato and Michael Ferris ready all they need now is a director and an actor. Fans of Arnie can rest assured, as he is touted to play a cameo in this sci-fi flick, which is to mark the beginning of a trilogy. Terminator without Arnie, those are shoes that are going to be difficult for anyone to fit into, literally!
