Director Rajiv Rai of Mohra and Gupt fame is in Mumbai. According to sources, the director has been in the city for quite a while now and even celebrated the New Year in Mumbai. He is expected to be here for a few more days but wants to maintain a low profile, before he goes back to the US, where he has been living for the last two years.

Apparently, the director has written a script for an English film and is currently working on the cast of the film. The film has tentatively been titled Martyr. Rai is on the verge of cracking a deal with a top Hollywood production house for the same. Martyr is a film set in the pre-independence era and will largely be shot in India and England. Rai is in the country scouting for Indian and international actors to star in his film. He is also hunting for locations while he is in Mumbai. The film is expected to hit the floors by April. The Arjun Rampal-Priyanka Chopra starrer, Asambhav, which released in 2004, was the last film directed by Rai. It may be recalled that the underworld had threatened and even made an attempt to kill the director after the success of Gupt in 1997. that is when the director fled to UK with his wife, Sonam, and two children, and then later moved to the US.
