Seems Nana Patekar has truly left his KRANTIVEER image behind and now focusing on taking a comic route!He is one of the major pillars of WELCOME and has played a major role in the blockbuster success of the film. Now he would be following up his comic act in films like HORN OK PLEASSSS and EK - THE POWER OF ONE which would be releasing later this year.
Produced by Abdol Samee Siddiqui, whose HALLA BOL is also up for release this weekend, HORN OK PLEASSSS is a comedy directed by newcomer Rakesh Sarang. The film boasts of an interesting combination of actors like Rimi Sen, Muzammil Ibrahimm, Ali Asgar and Satish Shah.
Nana would also be seen in the role of a CBI Inspector in EK - THE POWER OF ONE. Completed since middle of last year, this Sangeeth Sivan film is waiting for an opportune time for release after a flurry of Bobby Deol releases in 2007. Remake of Telugu hit ATAHADU, the film sees Nana enact the role originally played by Prakash Raj.
Even though Nana plays a law enforcer in the film, his character has comic shades to it as he tends to draw parallels for anything and everything to a woman. His persona in the film is also shown to be quite cool with a lot of effort gone in designing special dresses for him.
Earlier in 2007, Nana was seen in diverse roles as he played varied characters in films like YATRA, HAT TRICK and DUS KAHANIYAAN. None of the three films were successful on the box office though.
Some of the other films which Nana has signed are YAHAAN KE HUM SIKANDAR and Harman Baweja's next film (yet untitled) after LOVE STORY 2050. To be directed by Ahmed Khan and Anees Bazmee respectively, there isn't much confirmation around the exact release timing of the two films. However, none of these two films feature Nana in a comic role.
