Music-composer-turned director Vishal Bharadwaj was last in the news for his short film, Blood Brothers, which was a part of Mira Nair’s AIDS Jaago, a collage of four short films on AIDS awareness.

His last feature film, Omkara, was raved by critics and was considered one of the most authentic adaptations of Shakespeare’s Macbeth.

This Saif Ali Khan, Ajay Devgan, Kareena Kapoor starrer was lapped up by audiences in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar for its rural setting.

Bollywood has for long been reeling under the influence of Hollywood and the trends followed there; therefore, it was not surprising when the remake and sequel trend also found its way to Bollywood. Now it is the turn of production houses to move towards prequels, and leading the race is Kumar Mangat, the producer of Omkara. He intends to make a prequel to this film for which even its director Vishal is reportedly showing keen interest. He has shelved his dream project based on the yesteryear actress, popularly referred to as Fearless Nadia, citing creative differences with its producers UTV and is now working on his next script, which sources say, is in all probability that of Omkara’s prequel. With this maverick director at work, fans could bet it’s going to be another innovative effort.
