There were really no surprises there at the Star Screen Awards held earlier this week. Most of the awards were quite expected. Shah Rukh Khan, as expected, bagged the Best actor award for his performance in Chak De India.
The rest of the awards too followed a pattern. The Best actress award went to Kareena Kapoor for her performance in Imtiaz Ali's Jab We Met. Chak De also bagged the trophy for the best film; the best director award was shared by Shimit Amin and Aamir Khan. The Chak De girls also walked off with the Best Supporting actress award. Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor were rightly the best female and male debuts of the year. Veteran Manoj Kumar, back in the limelight after the Om Shanti Om episode was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award. It was a well-attended event with the Bollywood stars all turning out in great numbers to grace the ocassion.
