Even before he resumes shooting for the Ghajini remake next week, actor Aamir Khan has already informed director AR Murugadoss about his one-day trip to Jaipur on Januray 26 to meet his favourite novelist and screenplay write Gore Vidal.
According to reports, Vidal will be attending the Jaipur Literature Festival during this time. The actor has managed to set up a meeting with him. He has also requested his director to let him for a day so that he can meet Gore Vidal in Jaipur. The story goes that Aamir has read a few of Vidal's works including his essays with socio-political, sexual and historical themes. The author, all of 82 years, has been strongly critical of the George Bush government and that has influenced the actor largely. Aamir is particularly fond of his screen writings for Ben-Hur and the television movie, Billy, the Kid. The actor learnt about Vidal's trip to India very recently. He expressed his desire to meet the writer and Vidal readily agreed. The actor also intends to screen the film Taare Zameen Par for the delegates at the festival. He wants to keep a screening followed by an open discussion. However, Aamir will not be participating in the third Jaipur Literature Festival that celebrates world literature and features debates, talks, workshops, music performances and film screenings.
