London, Jan 19 (IANS) Pop star Kylie Minogue rejected the offer to lend her voice to 'Toxic', which went on to become a hit after going to Britney Spears who had been keen on it.

Thesun.co.uk quoted Minogue as saying: 'I listened to a snippet of it in the record company offices and decided against it. Well, a few of us collectively made that decision.

'When you have a relationship with a top songwriter - as I have with Cathy Dennis who wrote 'Toxic'- then you sometimes get a head start, and I knew that Britney was keen on it. That's cool. I wasn't at all angry when it worked for her. It's like the fish that got away. You just have to accept it.'

'Toxic' is Spears' fourth top-10 single in US and became her number one on the Hot Digital Tracks in 2004.
