Close on the heels of NDTV's Best Entertainer award, CNN-IBN has also announced the Best Entertainer for the year 2007 which is being jointly shared by Jaideep Sahni and Shimit Amin who are the writer-director duo of Chak de India which was a trendsetter of last year.

Chak De had tough competition from Rajnikanth for Sivaji and Bollywood's Badshah Shahrukh Khan for the coveted award.

A film which did not confine itself to any of Bollywood's axioms was virtually written off at the start. Shah Rukh without a heroine to waltz around conifers is something completely weird in terms of Bollywood parlance. But the film proved everyone wrong by captivating the hearts of both mass and class and is one of the biggest commercial successes of the year.

Hence it is only right that the makers of such films are given their due credit and encouragement and CNN-IBN has just done that. Behindwoods congratulates the duo for winning the award and also for making fellow countrymen realize that there are also interesting sports other than cricket. Kudos to them.
