Nayantara is likely to be the female lead for Rajinikanth in his upcoming Kuselan. The team is waiting for Nayantara’s final acceptance before making the official announcement. Kuselan is being produced by K. Balachander’s Kavithalaya Productions and is directed by P. Vasu, who earlier directed Rajinikanth in Chandramukhi. The film also stars Pasupathy, who appears in the title role. It is touted that Bollywood actress Tabu or Simran will pair opposite Pasupathy. The music for the film is to be composed by the up and coming G.V. Prakash Kumar. The film is a remake of the Malayalam film Katha Parayumbo,l which had Mammootty and Sreenivasan in the lead roles. It is about the friendship between a superstar and a poor barber. The film will go to floors by mid-February and will be released by late June. Vasu had earlier approached Tollywood glam queen Ileana for the role opposite Rajinikanth. However, the actress turned down the offer as she had her hands full in Tollywood. Hence, Vasu chose Nayantara who had earlier paired with Rajinikanth in Chandramukhi.
