Rajini gave us two blockbusters without puffing in a single scene! If the Superstar can, why can’t SRK and Big B? A recent survey by the Health ministry has shown that 52 percent of children are found to smoke their first cigarette after watching movie stars light up on screen.
This was reported by minister for health Dr. Anubumani Ramadoss who had made a personal appeal to Rajinikanth to quit smoking on screen, which the Superstar promptly did.
When the minister urged Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and other celebrities to follow suit, Khan responded by pointing out that it felt too much like censorship.
While Shah Rukh agreed with the minister that smoking was bad, he felt a decision such as what might set a wrong example on screen should be left to the filmmaker, not the government.
