Last year kind of belonged to Akshay Kumar with four hits under his belt. But it was Akshay in a comic avatar which created the magic at the box office. But this year promises to see Akshay back in action, doing what he does best. Akshay, the action hero is going to resurface this year with four action films lined up.

The Khiladi will reclaim his status as the king of action this year as he proceeds to beat up baddies, and performs his unique, dare-devil stunts after a hiatus of almost four years. Lovers of action movies will have much to rejoice as Akshay belts out the stuff in films like Kambaqth Ishq Hai, Rohan Sippy's Chandni Chowk To China, Vipul Shah's Singh Is Kingg and Yash Chopra's Tashan. The actor says that he took the break from action movies as he wanted to explore all aspects of the spectrum, beginning from comedy to emotional dramas. He did not want to be slotted in any particular image. The primary aim even then was to entertain and he did that wonderfully last year. But he admits that action is and always has been, closest to his heart. His foray into different types of genres as has not stopped him from continuing with his fitness regime. He believes that it was action that made him what he is today and hence it is back to the familiar grind for him this. Like he says, action is in his blood. And this year, Akshay is expected to provide enough fireworks to keep all action buffs glued to their seats. Welcome back to the Khiladi.!
