Chennai: "These are two emotional sequences in my career. One Mr Balachandar giving me an opportunity and another Kerala accepting me — not only as a lead actor, but also as one among them. I have always thought of myself as a Malayalee too.Thursday Jan 31 6:15 PM
This is what actor Kamal Hassan said at World Malayalee Council, for which he is the project manager. The council is working towards providing free heart surgeries to poor, young cardiac patients.
An emotional Hassan revealed that he might have something in store for his Malayalee fans.
"We've been talking about it to some of my producers. I said, 'let's get together and make a bilingual and I've been constantly harping on it," says he.
The actor was also all praise for Himesh Reshammiyya's compositions in Dasavatharam.
"I knew we had a hit music director, who's popular and all that, but his understanding of the 12th century sequence — which has been extraordinarily shot by Mr KS Ravi Kumar — is amazing. He's understood the crux of it and you'd be surprised," says Kamal Hassan.
"Dasavatharam is poised for a release in April and the music release will be in March," he adds.
When asked about reports of his daughter, Shruti Hassan, making a foray into films, Kamal Hassan says, "It's not talk. She's already into it. I can't tell you much about it. That's her domain."
