Mumbai: Everyone seems to be in the mood for charity. Actors have done it, fashion designers have done it, and now it is our Bollywood music fraternity coming forward to help social causes. Friday Feb 1 4:10 AM
Our musicians were caught playing a different tune, armed with a bat and ball; and it wasn’t concern for fitness that got them onto to the field, but the need to do their bit for charity.
The main motto is that just like we touch the hearts of millions of people through music, we thought let’s do something different this time,” celebrated singer Shaan said.
“We want to help people in need — cancer patients, people who live on the footpaths, little children who aren’t able to go to school. We want to help them whichever we way can,” lyricist Sameer said.
So did the inspiration to do their bit for society come from Bollywood?
"As you said there are TV actors who have been doing it, Heroes have been doing it. Different sections of the art society have been doing it, so what we are going to do is make a team, and play opposite the TV fraternity. So we are not only going to enjoy but generate some money also,” music composer Lalit Pandit explained.
"It’s not like we have finally awoken. Everyone keeps doing their bit. We make secret donations,” TV anchor Aditya Narayan revealed.
It looks like our music fraternity is all geared up to show us that help will reach the people who need it the most.
