Kangalum Kavipaaduthe, the movie that is to launch 6 new starlets, is a moving tale of love. Three youngsters who yearn for someone to care for them and love them truly, find their dreams fulfilled when they meet three girls at a friend's marriage in a village. Love blooms and problems soon follow. However, the relentless young couples work for, and achieve, a happy ending.
Director K. Chandranath is quite thrilled about the way the movie had come out. He says that in some scenes, the artistes were being their original selves and no acting was required, especially in sequences in which the love-starved boys get swamped by the girls’ unconditional love. In fact, Manivannan, who plays a pivotal role in the movie, could not bear to leave the set and the crew even after the shooting was done, because he had gotten so 'into character' and treated the boys like his own children!
Chandranath states that the screenplay is quite unique and that the opening sequence is one that Indian cinema has never seen before. K.G. Rangamani, R. Nandhakumar and P. Ramesh have produced the film under the ITC Productions banner. Music for the movie is by Maestro Illayaraja, and naturally, all his compositions are said to be amazing.
