There is no denying the fact that the last few years have given Bollywood some very talented actors. One such name that comes to mind straight away is Deepak Dobriyal, who is slowly but surely making a name for himself with some amazing performances in quality cinema. The fact that he is a favourite with the hugely versatile Vishal Bhardwaj, having starred in his last three projects (MAQBOOL, OMKARA and THE BLUE UMBRELLA), speaks volumes for his acting talent. Deepak's best performance is undoubtedly as Rajju in OMKARA, where he was instrumental in instigating Saif, aka Langda Tyagi to new heights of evilness.

Deepak is presently busy shooting for Samar Khan's SHAURYA, which is the next directorial venture for the talented director after his sweet little, KUCHH MEETHA HO JAYE. In SHAURYA, Deepak is in the august company of accomplished actors of the caliber of Rahul Bose, Kay Kay Menon, Jaaved Jaafery and Seema Biswas.

The director Samar Khan had an interesting and funny revelation about Deepak's flying phobia. Initially, Deepak was so scared of flying that during the outdoor shoots of SHAURYA, he would refuse to fly to the locales. He would leave a day or two before in order to join the cast and crew!

However, Deepak (the professional that he is) is now trying to overcome his fear and has been taking regular flights, not only for SHAURYA but to Jaipur for another of his assignments, Rakeysh Mehra's DILLI 6.

Here is hoping that Deepak and Samar keep flying higher and higher with SHAURYA, which surely appears to be a promising and interesting venture.
