Mumbai: Two weeks ago, the Big B would have never imagined that he would be accused of not doing enough for Maharashtra. Just some time ago, he had inaugurated the music album of Bal Thackarey's grandson, Aditya.

Now, he is being accused of not doing for the state that has given him so much.

With good friend Amar Singh doing all the talking, Bachchan senior has maintanied a dignified silence on the issue so far and is currently with his family in Jaipur.

But the film industry has been vocal about their support for the legendary actor.

Filmmaker Shyam Benegal says, "He is an easy target for everyone. I really think it's very shocking, throwing things at his place. What does it mean? He has entertained us for so many years, 40 years, he is a superstar. Are we not going to accept him as our own. Whether it's Mumbai or Allahabad it doesn't make the slightest difference."

On Monday morning, two men reportedly threw glass bottles at Amitabh Bachchan's house Pratiksha, while MNS activists burnt the actor's effigy at Shivaji Park in the evening.

And on Tuesday, Bhojpuri actor Manoj Tiwari's house was targetted in a similar manner. For an industry that only regards talent and not an individual's regional or religious background, the ongoing issue of non-Maharashtrian's in Mumbai comes as a shock.
