Shahid Kapur has waived off his fee for close friend and producer Ahmed Khan's Paathshala. The film is being directed by Milind Ukey and has Shahid playing a school teacher, quite like Aamir Khan in Taare Zameen Par. The actor plays an English and music teacher who comes into the lives of a group of young troubled students.
According to sources, Shahid is very fond of Ahmed, so when the latter approached him for the film, the actor decided to do the film for free, keeping in mind the fact that it is also Ahmed's first film. Ahmed and Shahid have grown up together and Ahmed has even choreographed Shahid's first musical video. The duo has struggled together in the early days of their careers. Apparently, Shahid's role is not that of a full-fledged hero's role but more like a special appearance. The main lead is being played by Govinda and Ayesha Takia. Currently, the actor is busy preparing for Ken Ghosh's musical comedy where he plays a dancer. While there are superficial resemblances to Taare Zameen Par, Shahid's role in Paathshala is different from that of Aamir's.
