Whenever a film's release date changes, in 99% of the cases it is always pushed ahead rather than pulled in. Well, SINGH IS KINNG now finds itself in the company of that rare 1% breed, as its release date has been pre-poned by a week.Originally slated to arrive on 15th August, the film would now be arriving a week earlier i.e. 8th August. Doesn't it sound surprising considering the fact that a 15th August release would have meant an uninterrupted 3 day weekend due to Independence Day holiday. Not really, if one gets to hear the logic behind that from one of the highly placed sources closely associated with the film.
Explains the source, "See, in today's situation, a great opening for an Akshay Kumar film is a given. With names like Anees Bazmee (director), Vipul Shah (producer) and Katrina Kaif associated with SINGH IS KINNG, there is no way that the film would face any hindrance. So what we were looking at was how to enhance the box office prospects of the film further."
He goes on to add; "We thought that why not bring the film a week earlier so that instead of just an excellent first weekend, we could nurture week two. We are confident about the product and hence sure that the film has a great potential to continue its victory march into the second weekend and many more weekends to follow."
So this is how the action plan looks. Bring the film on the weekend of 8th August and make great moolah. However, do not stop here and continue to keep the promotion on with word of mouth ensuring that the film is strong as it enters Week two. With the Independence Day holiday to boost the film further, expect a killing, which expands itself into two straight weeks.

SINGH IS KINNG has music by Pritam and also stars Neha Dhupia, Javed Jaffrey, Ranvir Shorey, Kamal Chopra, Om Puri, Himanshu Pandey and Sonu Sood in other important roles. Apart from India, the film has also been shot in Australia and Egypt.
